VASL, the charity behind Support for Carers, is seeking Trustees
Do you want to make a difference to those in need in your community?
Do you have some time to give to your local charity?
Do you have skills and experience that you can share with us?
VASL is a charity based at Torch House near the Leisure Centre in Market Harborough. We provide a range of excellent services to the communities of Harborough District, including:
- Social transport for those with mobility problems
- Community Champions for isolated, older people
- My Mind Matters to support and advise people with concerns about their mental health
- A group for young carers
- We also have a contract with Leicestershire County Council to provide Support for Carers; we support over 8,000 family Carers across Leicestershire.
We are looking for new trustees to join our small, committed and friendly Board of Trustees/ Directors. You do not need previous experience of being a trustee; many find that they bring transferable skills from other walks of life, such as budget setting and oversight, planning and prioritising resources and activities.
We are committed to diversity and aim to ensure that the composition of the Board of Trustees reflects the community at large.
All potential trustees should be able to commit time to attend a full Board meeting every two months. Trustees are also encouraged to join at least one sub-committee (currently Finance and HR) and participate in joint working groups with the staff.
These posts are unpaid but reasonable expenses will be paid. Applicants will be asked to submit a CV, complete an application form and a short skills audit.
