Help shape your Local HealthWatch

Date: Wednesday, February 1st 2012
Categories: All Leicestershire Leicester Activities & Events

As you know, the Government is planning to make big changes to the NHS. For example, responsiblity for making decisions is already passing from regional 'Trusts' to GP-led consortia or groups.

To make sure that everyone, including individuals, get a say in these changes, Leicestershire is developing a Local HealthWatch organisation.

If you'd like to find out more or get involved, you can go along to a HealthWatch Engagement Event on 14th March from 10am to 4pm at Voluntary Action Leicestershire, Newarke Street, Leicester.

The event will be a chance for you to help shape Local HealthWatch and meet the organisations behind it, including Local Authorities and local LINks - umbrella organisations that bring together networks, organisations and individuals in Leicestershire to give them a voice in improving Health and Social Care Services.

What will Local HealthWatch do?

Local HealthWatch will ensure that everyone has a voice in how health and social care services are changing - including carers and the cared for. It will also feedback what local people need and want to GP Consortia and report concerns about the quality of local services to HealthWatch England for example.

If you'd like to go along please call 0116 279 5075 to book a place or for more information.
