‘VASL - Your Local Charity’
VASL is the charity behind Support for Carers. In addition, VASL runs a range of projects in the Harborough District, including a community transport scheme to help elderly, disabled and rurally-isolated people who can’t use public transport; a project to help those living with a mental health condition; and a project to support people aged 60+ experiencing loneliness.

Harborough Lifeline offers an emergency alarm service for anyone who feels vulnerable or alone, whatever their age or needs. Their customers may include:
Those with physical disabilities
Those with learning difficulties
Those who live alone
Those with sensory impairment
Those with limited mobility or those who are at risk of falling
Anyone who may feel alone or vulnerable for any reason
The service is run by Harborough District Council and provides daily wellbeing checks as well as being able to call for help in the event of illness. The technology can even identify if someone falls, via a wrist sensor that alerts an operator if it moves suddenly.

Market Harborough Library runs a well-established home delivery service for people living within Market Harborough, who can’t get to the Library themselves. The service is free and run by volunteers and includes books, talking books on CD and even DVDs (for a one-off annual payment).
