World Mental Health Day 2011
This year's World Mental Health Day is on Monday 10th October.
World Mental Health Day is held every year to raise the public's awareness of mental health issues. According to the World Health Organization the day promotes more open discussion of mental disorders and investments in prevention and treatment services.
Over the next week or so we'll be bringing you news of events that are happening around Leicestershire - to recognise and support World Mental Health Day.
Want to learn how to use a computer or brush up your existing skills?
Being able to use a computer can really benefit carers - especially if it's difficult to get out and about. For example, you can pay your bills online, or do your weekly shopping online for delivery or even book hospital appointments online for the person you care for.
If you'd like to learn how to use a computer or brush up your existing skills, why not go along to the free drop-in computer training sessions at the Community Computer Centre in Lutterworth.
You'll find the computer centre at the Lutterworth One Stop Shop, Wycliffe House, Gilmorton Road, Lutterworth.
As well as being free, you don't need to book a session, you can just turn up at a time that suits you and stay for as long or as little as you like.
There's also the option to arrange one-to-one or small group tuition if you want to.
The drop-in sessions are on from Monday to Friday at 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
Complete beginners are also welcome and the sessions are designed to be welcoming and friendly, so they're perfect for people who haven't tried this kind of activity before.

Carers Emergency Response Service
If you're concerned about what would happen to the person you care for if something should happen to you, or you have an emergency, help is at hand.
Leicestershire County Council and the social enterprise for older people Housing 21 have teamed up to provide a Carers' Emergency Response Service to carers in Leicestershire.
The service offers carers a Carers' Emergency Response Card, designed to be carried with you, plus support to help you plan for emergencies.
If something should happen that means you're unable to look after the person you care for, Housing 21 will organise the support you've asked for in your emergency plan or it will care for your loved one directly until alternative arrangements can be made (for up to 48 hours or 72 hours over a bank holiday weekend).
To find out more and to see if you qualify for the service please call the Carers' Emergency Response Team at Housing 21 on 0303 123 0699 or email [email protected]
For more information take a look at the Housing 21 website.
