Carers Support Groups

Our monthly Carers Support Groups are open to anyone looking after an adult 18+ who lives in the county of Leicestershire.

After 16 months on Zoom we went back face-to-face in September 2020. This is subject to change as we are keeping a close eye on Covid case rates to keep you all safe. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook, to be reminded of when the groups are on - we update at 9am each Monday.

The groups are relaxed and informal, and guest speakers are often arranged. They last 90 minutes.

Blaby group (Gurjit) - first Tuesday of the month, 2:30pm at Countesthorpe Library

North-West Leics group (Sheneice) - first Thursday of the month, 10:30am at the Marlene Reid Centre in Coalville

Melton group (Hannah) - second Wednesday of the month, 2pm, at the Carnegie Museum in Melton Mowbray

Hinckley and Bosworth group (Lisa) - second Thursday of the month, 1pm at Age UK in Earl Shilton

Oadby and Wigston group (Gurjit) - third Thursday of the month, 2:30pm at the Salvation Army on Ladysmith Road in South Wigston

Charnwood group (Sheneice) - fourth Monday of the month, 2pm at Gorse Covert in Loughborough

Harborough group (Elaine) - fourth Thursday of the month, 1:30pm at the Leisure Centre in Market Harborough

Can I bring the person I care for?

Our groups are just for carers; that way they are free to open up and be honest about the reality of their caring role.

Can I just drop in and out?

Most of our carers stay for the whole session, especially if there is a guest speaker. We deliberately keep the groups short  because we know carers often can't be out too long.

How can I find out what's planned at any particular group?

Keep an eye on our Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, where we put it up a few days in advance, or give us a quick call - 01858 468543.
