We also offer two online support groups per month using Zoom. "A Cuppa with Kerry" with Carer Services Manager Kerry is 2pm on the third Friday of each month. We offer an evening group specifically aimed at working-age carers on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm. The Working Age group is staffed by the Carers Wellbeing Officers on a rota basis. Both online groups last 60 minutes.
FAQ:
Can I bring the person I care for?
Our groups are just for carers; that way they can open up and be honest about the sometimes difficult realities of their caring role.
Are they drop-in sessions?
Most of our carers stay for the whole session, especially if there is a guest speaker. We deliberately keep the groups quite short because we know carers often can't be out too long.
How can I find out what's planned at any particular group?
Keep an eye on our Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, where we put it up a few days in advance, or give us a quick call - 01858 468543.
I can't get out - can I still join in?
We offer two online support groups per month using Zoom. "A Cuppa with Kerry" with Carer Services Manager Kerry is at 2pm on the third Friday of each month. We run an evening group specifically aimed at working-age carers on the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm. The Working Age group is staffed by the Carers Wellbeing Officers on a rota basis. Online groups last 60 minutes.
Is there a charge?
No. Some carers like to donate £1 towards refreshments and room hire if they come to the face-to-face groups. This is voluntary, and optional. Most groups will also run a small raffle.
