Do you care for an adult with learning disabilities?

You're welcome to go along to the Family Carers Group, run by The Leicestershire Learning Disabilities Partnership Board, on the first Monday of each month from 10am to 12 noon at County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8RA.

The group is for family carers of adults with learning disabilities and as well as offering support, information and encouragement, the group is helping to improve services in Leicestershire for both adults with learning disabilities and their family carers.

In addition, sessions usually incude a guest speaker on topics of interest like benefits, respite care, legal issues etc.

All family carers of learning disabled adults are welcome and there is no charge. Tea and coffe is provided and the group brings biscuits to share round.

Free health & wellbeing event - 13th January

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and Leicestershire County Council are holding a 'New Year, Good Health' Coffee Morning on Monday 13th January at Wigston Magna Library & Learning Centre, Bull Head Street, Wigston Magna, Leicester, LE18 1PA from 10am to 12noon.

Anyone is welcome to go along for free health advice and information, blood pressure checks and free complementary therapies, together with tea, coffee and the chance to chat.

Are you caring for someone with dementia?

Why not go along to Poppies Dementa Cafe to meet other carers, have a cuppa and get advice, information and support? The cafe meets on the first Monday of the month at Syston Community Centre, School Street, Syston, LE7 1HN from 10.30am to 12 noon. 

On 6th January they'll be a talk from Boots Pharmacy, on 3rd February Judith Winter and Jenny Angel will be talking about Age Concern services in Syston and on 3rd March they'll be a talk from Leicestershire CareOnLine
