Older Persons’ Month - Health Awareness Event in Harborough

Date: Wednesday, August 17th 2011
Categories: Harborough Activities & Events

September is Older Persons' Month in Leicestershire and there's a whole range of events coming up across the county - including leisure, sporting and health promotion days.

Diabetes and Sight Loss

One of these events is an information event where you can find out more about diabetes and the various health problems which can arise from diabetes, if left untreated. Vista, a Leicestershire charity that helps people with sight loss, will be running a special session on the link between diabetes and sight loss.

Anyone is welcome to attend the event, including older people and their carers. It's taking place on Tuesday 27th September from 1.00pm to 3.00pm at Market Harborough Baptist Church, 25 Coventry Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 8BX.

To find out more and to book your place please call Kamini Patel on 0116 229 3029 or email [email protected]

Look out for more information on Older Persons' Month  in your local library, GP surgery or Age Concern or take a look at the Older Persons' Booklet 2011 - it's packed full of useful information for older people as well as details of events taking place throughout September.
