The Rural Community Council (Leicestershire and Rutland) and Papworth Trust are looking for people to become community energy champions in Harborough, to help spread the word about grants and services that can help those in fuel poverty.
They’re holding an energy advice session on June 4th from 2pm to 4pm at the Papworth Trust, Kibworth Business Park, 10 Nursery Court, Kibworth, LE8 0EX. Anyone is welcome to go along, especially people who work, volunteer or come into contact with those at risk of fuel poverty including carers.
Diana Cook from the Rural Community Council explains:
“Energy prices have risen sharply and are likely to rise still further. This is having an effect on the most vulnerable in our society who are also often the people who do not ask for help. By spreading information widely among those who come across vulnerable people we hope to be able to ensure that more people have access to help and support that they need so that they can take advantage of the initiatives available.”
The session will cover fuel poverty, fuel costs, energy efficiency and advice, reducing heat loss, heating and domestic water controls, controls and appliances and where to go for further assistance and advice. Places are limited so please call or email to book your place.
