Event for carers and carers’ groups
Date: Wednesday, December 7th 2011
Categories: All Leicestershire Harborough Activities & Events Groups & Forums
As you may know, the Support for Carers service is run by Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL).
VASL also runs the Harborough District Voluntary Sector Support Forum - which gives local voluntary groups the chance to get together and share experiences and discuss topics of interest.
On Thursday 12th January 2012 the Forum will be meeting to discuss 'how to engage with the new Health Structures'.
For example, the event will look at how the NHS is moving towards GP-led groups commissioning healthcare services and what this means for voluntary groups, such as local carers' groups.
Carers are very welcome to attend the event, especially if you run a carers' group or are thinking of setting one up.
The event is on from 10.30am to 1pm at The Settling Rooms, St Mary's Place, Market Harborough and guest speakers will be on hand to answer your questions including:
Ben Smith - Voluntary Action Leicestershire Health and Social Care Policy Team
Sarah Hill - Harborough District and County Councillor
A Representative from Market Harborough Medical Centre
Saima Khan - Policy Officer, Leicestershire Link and Healthwatch
