Volunteers needed for charity Christmas lunch

Date: Thursday, May 30th 2013
Categories: Harborough Activities & Events

Margaret and Mike Bowers from the Salvation Army in Market Harborough are looking for volunteers to help them provide Christmas lunch for people who would otherwise be alone at Christmas.

Volunteers are needed to help with all kinds of tasks, from vegetable preparation to cooking, transport and serving at the table. The event will run from first thing Christmas Day morning through to around tea-time at the Methodist Church.

Margaret and Mike are keen to hear from people who can help during the day, for a few hours in the morning or afternoon, or with the planning leading up to the event. If you’d like to get involved, you can go along to the first planning meeting for the event on 5th June from 7.30pm at the Methodist Church, to see what’s being planned, without having to commit yourself.
