This group is just for carers, giving them the chance to be honest about their caring roles without feeling inhibited. Why not come along and meet others in similar situations to you in a supportive, friendly environment. Guest speakers are frequently arranged and sometimes there is a raffle.

Peer support groups give carers of people with dementia the opportunity to meet with others who understand some of what they are going through. Run by a facilitator, the sessions offer a chance to ask questions, get information and share experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Activity groups give people affected by dementia the opportunity to take part in structured activities. Run by a facilitator who encourages and supports people to take part, the groups are also a chance to relax and socialise.

The Alzheimers Society run CRISP, a very good 6-week programme for dementia carers giving them insight into the condition their loved one has, tips and tricks and coping strategies. We highly recommend it for all dementia carers, whether the person is newly diagnosed or has had the condition for some time.

The Share & Care Group is a social support group for people living with dementia together with their carers who live in Lutterworth and the surrounding villages. Meetings are run by professionals and volunteers who are trained to help those suffering from dementia cope better with their condition. The meetings, held in safe locations such as Lutterworth Methodist Church and the Parish Church of St. Mary, centre around a social gathering of people who share similar circumstances. The Singing Cafe

The Singing Cafe is a cafe for people with mental health challenges including memory loss and dementia. Singing is good for you so why not take the person you care for along, so they can enjoy singing songs and meeting new people? Please check the website for Singing Cafe venues and times. Learning cooperatives for people no longer in full time work - set up to give people the chance to learn and find out more about subjects that interest them in small, friendly groups. The idea is to learn for fun, not for qualifications. Not just for older people, there’s no lower age limit if you want to join and it’s fine if you’re working part-time. If caring commitments make it difficult to get out and about you can also join a U3A online.

The activity group is for people who were under 65 years old when they were diagnosed with dementia, and runs along side The Snowdrops Carers’ Group
